This section will follow my
progress building a very simple scenic line in our garage.
I still love to run trains on our garden line, but the UK weather
this Summer has been abysmal. Really frustrating. So I'm also building
an indoor line where the trains can run on wet days and in Winter.

Here's my first rough plan...
The line will be the same gauge as my outdoor line (45mm) so that all my locos and stock will run on it, but it will be very different in other ways. It will give me the chance to build scenery that I wouldn't have attempted out of doors, and it will be built on three boards or modules that can be separated if I want to transport the line to exhibitions.
Of course, there's no way this line is going to replace the garden line for long trains or non-RC running, but it will give much enjoyment simulating very slow running and shunting at a tiny rural terminus - using the traverser to support timetabled operations. This "garage/exhibition" line concept would also suit an industrial or warfeside theme.
